Hello,
Does anyone have a copy of an owners manual with schematic(s) for the Mitchell 300A years 1985, 1988, or 1989?
Please PM me if you do.
Kind Regards,
Bill :D

Chubber,
Thanks for answering but those are for the 300 and 300C models. I am looking for the 300A models.
Kind Regards,
Bill :D

Just seen your post. Here's an '88 schematic. Mcotswold.

Mcotswold,
Thank you so much for posting this lovely schematic. My original post is not clear enough and I'm afraid I have confused several readers.
What I am searching for are schematics for the 1985 300A, 1988 300A, and the 1989 300A.
Sorry for my sloppy original request.
Kind Regards,
Bill :D

GreatLaker,
no apology necessary. I don't have specific 300A schematics for those years, but what I've found from the 300A '77, '78, '79, '81 &'84 schematics that I do have is that the Pinion (82596) gears are the same on the 1988 300 and 1990 300 (it's Taiwan, but the part numbers match the '88 French schematic). But the 1984 300A has a different main gear (83444) which it shares with the '88 & '90 300s. All the other features that appear on the later 300 schematics, such as silent A/R, gasket and the later version bail (83415) appear on the '84 300A one. I would hazard a guess that there's a bit of " badge engineering" going on here. It's maybe like the 300C, which originally had roller bearings in the head and handle, but in my 300A '84 schematic is shown as having none. Anyway, if you knew all this already, sorry for the gab. If it's new to you, then maybe it'll be useful. Tight lines. MC

As a matter of interest I attach schematics dated 1977, 1980 and 1986.

Re: Altex 1980 300A schematic. I see now what I should have got from my 1981 schematic. Different bail (83010) which with a cursory glance looks very much like the later one (83415). Details, details.... Well that's useful and I hope it helps GreatLaker.
Regards WYEcotswold.

Altex,
Thank you so much for posting these three schematics. I find them quite interesting and informative during the very complex 300A period of the Mitchell 300 reels.
Kind Regards,
