Bache Brown first acquired Luxors from his friend in France and distributed them to clients in the US. These French produced reels were all black in color. I put together a new in box collection of these reels. there was the 3000 reels and the 3800 reels to replace the 300 and 308 Mitchells. Garcia also sold a line of 9000 series of reels equivalent to the 900, 908, 302, and 306 only they all had skirted spools and all were made in Japan. They didn't h...

I have a nice collection of the first Luxor reels and their boxes produced by Bache Brown in the USA. Normally they were made in France, but the war had started so Bache, who was an early promoter of the spinning method in the US, produced these reels.
