Trying to replace bale spring on an otherwise pristine 406 I picked up.There wasn't a spring so don't have a sample. Tried a spring for a 300 but spring force was backward (towards the catch to hold it open rather than to close the bale). There are springs for sale on ebay that claim they're for 406 and others but they look like 300 springs. No dimensions. Any help is appreciated.

I did a quick search and located this bail spring for the 406 reel you have.
