fishugo, I checked Dennis's 2006 Value Guide and the only pictured presentation reel in there is the Silver Reel. 25th year Anniversary and 25 were made to be given to select people in the Mitchell organization. You mentioned Gold 300 reel which would probably be the 300DL American released. That reel along with a 301DL and the European released distributed DL's. NOW there reportedly was a Presentation GOLD 300 reel along with matching rod made for an executive I believe around 1961. A soft covered book has an illustration of them on the cover of the 4th anniversary of Fisherman's Digest. Red covers with reel and pole on the front. I have it somewhere amongst my "stuff".

Upon further reading I think I found what you're looking for. ALSO in 1971 there were GOLD - PRESENTATION reels made. Only 5 of them and given to select corporate executives to celebrate 20,000,000 reels made.
